Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?
A full order (twelve entrees) is $195 and a small order (six entrees) is $105 if you come and prepare them yourself. For an additional $10 (full order $205, small order $115) we will assemble the meals for you to pick up.  Entrees off our Seniors/Singles menu are $7.50 each, contain two servings, and are available for pick up only.

Do you offer side items or desserts?

Yes, we do.  We have a few different side items each month.  They are available when you come make your entrees or when picking up your order.  Side items change on a month to month basis.

Do I need a reservation or can I just show up?

Yes, you need to reserve a spot unless you come to one of our Walk-In days.  We only get enough food ready for the number of people coming and what they order.

Do I have to come with a group?

No, you can come by yourself.  We have a lot of customers that come with a group but we also have quite a few that come alone.

When can I come?

The calendar page of our web site shows the days and times we hold sessions.

How much notice do you need?

We would like to know at least 48 hours in advance but we usually have enough food to accomodate that last minute order.  If it's less than 24 hours give us a call to make sure there is enough food for your order.

How do I order?

There is a box on every page of our web site with a picture of lettuce, tomato, and onion.  Under it reads "Click here to order online now!"  Click anywhere in that box and it will take you through the ordering process.

What if I don’t like a menu item?
Don't worry. If there is a menu item you don’t think your family will like, you are more than welcome to select two of another entrée.

I don't need six servings at once, can I split the entrees into smaller packaging?

Yes, in fact, most people split the entrees in two pans/containers.  We have 9" round pans and lots of Ziploc bags if you want to split your entrees into two containers that serve 2-3.

Do I have to buy all the meals?
Our menu contains between 12-16 meals each month.  The small order is six entrees and the large order is twelve entrees.

Can I bring someone with me?
You are more than welcome to bring someone to help. Please let us know if you will be bringing a guest when you sign up.

How can I reserve a session for a private party?
Give us a call at 563-355-1511 to reserve your private party.  Private parties are popular for baby showers, work gatherings, or if you just want a "girls night out."  We do not serve alcohol but you are more than welcome to bring a bottle of wine to share.  We have wine glasses!

How many people does one entree feed?
Each entree feeds four to six people.  Most are six servings.  There may be a couple that feed four or five but most are six servings.

Can I bring my own dishes?

If you want to bring your own pans to put your entrees in you can.  Maybe you have company coming and you want to make your entree in something nicer than a disposable aluminum foil pan.

I don’t have a large family. Can I split the entrees?
Yes, you are more than welcome to split your entrees in two pans.  If you want your entrees split three ways you would have to order off the Seniors/Singles menu.  We provide 12 x 10 pans and 9" round pans. Typically, smaller families will split the meals in two 9" round pans.

How much space do I need in my freezer?
Most entrees are made in a 12x10 pan or split into two 9" round pans. We usually have 4-6 entrees that go in one gallon Ziploc bags as well.

How long does it take to prepare the entrees?
For most people it takes about an hour to make six entrees (small order) and two hours to make twelve entrees (full order.)

What if I need to cancel?
To receive a full refund, you must cancel at least four days in advance. If you cancel less than four days in advance, we will give you a 50% refund. Remember, we can always prepare the meals for you to pick up for an additional $10.
