the process.

Once you have signed up for a session and selected your entrees, you are ready to start. Be sure to bring a laundry basket or cooler to carry your food home. Grab an apron and bandanna off our shelf and move from station to station assembling your meals.

We have done all the chopping, dicing, boiling, straining, and portioning.  You simply move from table to table assembling the entrees while following the recipes.  Only the meats and cheeses are portioned. You can add more or less of the spices and other ingredients to suit your family’s taste.  Wrap your entrees in disposable pans, stick the cooking instructions on the lid, and move to the next open station.

We provide the measuring cups, spoons, spatulas, whips and mixing bowls as well.  When you finish assembling your entree leave the mess to us.  We pick up the dirty utensils and wipe up the table.  For some, the fact that we clean up the mess is enough to keep them coming back.

We provide freezers to store your entrees until you have finished. Most people can assemble 12 entrees in about two hours.  When you’re finished, take your entrees home to your freezer. For the next few weeks you will have the luxury of knowing that dinner is made.

We recommend thawing out the meals in your refrigerator for at least 24 hours before cooking.

Benefits

What’s For Dinner Tonite is less expensive than eating out. Can a family of four eat out for less than $20? Probably not. Less than $15, no way. One entree at What’s For Dinner Tonite is $16-$17 and feeds four to six people. That’s $2.50-$3.75 per person.

Time, time time. What’s For Dinner Tonite saves you time. Instead of spending (on average) an hour or more each night on planning, preparation, and clean up you can spend time doing things more important to you.

Smaller grocery bill. Our grocery bill was cut by $30-$40 each week and we threw out less food. How many times do you make something and throw out the leftovers because it’s more than what your family eats? We encourage you to use as little or as much packaging as you need to fit your family’s appetite.

Less waste. Do you ever buy an ingredient for a recipe, use it once, and then two weeks later find it in the back of the refrigerator growing mold? At What’s For Dinner Tonite you only use what you need.

Variety. As much as I try to vary what I make at home I always seem to make the same things week after week. At What’s For Dinner Tonite we vary our menu from month to month. We also try to create a menu that has a combination of beef, pork, chicken, pasta, and fish.

It’s what we eat. At What’s For Dinner Tonite we don’t get too fancy with our menu. We try to create menu items that are kid friendly. You probably won’t see Brown Chicken Fricassee or Seafood Newburg on our menu.
